Vértex 24h - 2008
A 24 hour ice skating race for teams and solo skaters in Östersund 22 - 23 Feb 2008
- At Östersunds trotting-track.
- One lap = 815 m.
- One class for teams, one class for solo skaters.
- Maximum 12 skaters per team (one member on the track at the time).
- Winner: the team respectively solo skater which/who skated most laps in 24 hours.
I have so many photos from previous years so this year i relaxed instead of taking photos when I was "off duty". All the Stockholm Speedskater-skaters that were skating the same hours as I are missing on the photos.
We flew over the track as we landed in Östersund. This year the inside track was used instead of the outside track. Sharp eyed persons can see the solo skaters who had started already at noon.
Solo skater Björn Larsson from Stockholm Speedskaters. When this photo was taken he had skated for 6 h 54 min.

Part time result after 4 h 42 min. Our main competitors had given walk over so our goal instead became to make our both teams sharing the victory. Both teams kept exactly the same pace for 24 hours.

The finish for the team skaters at 5 pm, end of the last lap. The two skaters from Stockholm Speedskaters making sure that they will cross the finish line at exactly the same time.
